Irish Politics and Immigration

Today we learned about Ireland’s culture. We started off the day with politics. It was really interesting and confusing because votes are carried over if your first choice loses. After that we went to visit the potato famine statues. Then, we went on a replica of the Jeanie Johnston, which is a ship that was used to bring Irish people to America and Canada. One fact about it is even when it was sinking, not a single person died traveling on it. We then ate lunch at Boxty’s. It was really good, and it was interesting to see that it was another way the Irish used potatoes. Lastly, we went to the new Emigration Museum. It was cool to see all the voyages the Irish took.
